What's the Best Time to Sell Your Home

However, as a general rule, local economic and seasonal factors play big roles in the selling of a home. Homes usually sell in all communities whether times are "good" or "bad", but when interest rates are higher, homes don't necessarily sell as fast for top dollar. When selling a home, ask a Realtor for a written CMA (comparative market analysis). This shows recent sales prices of comparable homes nearby which have sold within the last few months. It also shows the asking prices of comparable nearby homes that were listed for sale. The Realtor will make necessary adjustments for the pros and cons of your home, compare it to the recent sales prices of similar nearby homes, and give you his/her opinion of your home's probable sales price based on today's market conditions.
