Last Minute Preparations for a Showing

There is a lot to be done last-minute when your Realtor lets you know that a buyer is interested in seeing your house. To make your house look inviting and appealing, the following suggestions are recommended:

  • Open the shade/blinds in every room (unless it's blocking an unpleasant view)
  • Open the curtains/drapes to make the house appear brighter and larger
  • Turn all the lights on to make your clean house sparkle
  • Turn off radios, TV's, and other noisy appliances
  • Make sure the beds are made with the best spreads or comforters
  • Place brand new towels in the bathroom and place toilet seats down
  • If you have a smoker in the home, make modest use of fresheners or potpourri
  • If you have a pet, keep it under control at all times
  • Lastly, make sure you leave the house before the prospective buyer comes
